Westlawn Cemetery and Mausoleum
Westlawn’s pristine grounds were consecrated in 1937, providing a peaceful environment to visit the deceased. Large oak trees scattered throughout the grounds, provide shade from the sun and a connection with the serenity of nature. Here is a space for memories and roots to deepen. Acknowledging the diversity of today’s Jewish community, Westlawn Cemetery is available to all Jewish families.
Westlawn Cemetery’s Mausoleum is a contemporary structure located on the northeast sector of our grounds. Completed in 2004, its skylights and minimalist design evoke a feeling of earth and heaven throughout three levels. Entombment and columbarium options are available. The ease of visiting in a comfortable, climate-controlled environment makes entombment a desirable and cost-effective option for many families.
Lakeshore Jewish Funerals
Lakeshore Jewish Funerals was started in 2006 to answer the need for a Jewish Funeral Provider in close proximity to the city of Chicago and close to suburbs.
Our affiliation with Westlawn enables us to serve all the needs of the Jewish community. We are committed to excellence and our mission: to provide the support, personalized service and comfort that grieving families need to help them start the process of healing.
Temple Sholom of Chicago
Temple Sholom, founded in 1867, is one of Chicago’s oldest synagogues. Temple Sholom is a place of great historical significance in the Reform Movement and a dynamic, modern approach to Judaism. Our large and welcoming congregation is the perfect place to find a spiritual community. Westlawn Cemetery and Lakeshore Jewish Funerals are part of the Temple Sholom family.
