Bruce Mertz, 93. Beloved husband of Lori (nee Borlack). Loving father of Cassandra (Joey) Hersch and Adam Mertz. Adored stepfather of Staci (Christian) Brodwell and Lissa (Chris) McGirt. Cherished grandpa of Zachary and Spencer Hersch; and Brady, Rylan, Mavryk and Dylan McGirt. Dear friend of 89 years to Buddy Fink. Fond brother-in-law of Alan (Joann) Borlack. Dear uncle of Jarred (Cynthia) Borlack and Julia (Gregg) Pulta.
Bruce was a larger-than-life character to all those who he encountered and took great pride in all of his endeavors. He will be remembered, but never forgotten, by all of his friends, family and anyone fortunate enough to have known him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jewish United Fund or Jewish National Fund in Bruce’s honor would be appreciated. Funeral service Tuesday, June 30 at 11:00AM at Westlawn Cemetery Chapel, 7801 W Montrose Ave, Norridge. Interment private.
